Every family’s journey through burnout and recovery is unique and profoundly courageous.

The parents I work with aren’t looking for quick fixes; they’re learning to slow down, listen deeply, and rebuild life in a way that truly honours their child’s nervous system and capacity. It’s been my privilege to walk alongside so many families as they’ve discovered calmer, more connected ways of being together.

Below are a few reflections, shared with permission, from parents I’ve supported on their journey.

Tanya is a safe space and a wealth of knowledge.

“From the beginning, her calmness and understanding of burnout helped me identify what I was going through as a parent and how to better support my 16 year old son.

We were new to Autism and Burnout, with a lot of questions. Her story and her coaching helped me through some of my most difficult days. It can be a lonely road that others just don’t understand—as parents we need someone who truly understands and can give specific guidance depending upon where your family is at in their journey.

Tanya came into my life at just the right time.”

Life-changing for our family

“Tanya provided support, insight and guidance for us that has been life-changing for our family. She is extremely knowledgeable about neurodiversity and the impact on family with ND children. We found Tanya able to communicate this information and share a range of useful tools in a very clear and caring manner. Tanya supported us to better understand our daughter, adjust our parenting and move our family from crisis point to a much happier and healthier place. I couldn’t recommend her more highly.”

Tanya is and does exactly what she claims.

“Compassionate guidance, support, understanding, empathy, and more. She coached us through some of the toughest challenges we’ve faced with our teen, and we’re all better for it.

Highly recommended; if any of what you read on her website resonates with you, contact her.”

We wanted to share our testimonial about our work with Tanya Valentin.

“I came upon Tanya’s website after our recently diagnosed autistic teenager could not get out of bed when asked about attending school. I was desperate to find a way to help our child, and I instinctively understood that pushing them to go to school was not the answer. I was scared. I didn’t know what to do, so I did a deep dive into parenting autistic teens who struggle with school attendance and came across Tanya’s site.

She offered me a glimpse into taking a different perspective with our child—understanding that what was happening was not their choice. They were in burnout and most likely experiencing a persistent desire for autonomy. Tanya was quick to ease my fears with her gentle voice and non-judgmental stance. She coached us to look at low-demand parenting as a way to help our child’s nervous system calm.

She validated our concerns, provided sound feedback and tips, and gently “held our hands” during this new and often scary journey. She connected us to helpful resources and gave us much food for thought.

We are very thankful for Tanya’s guidance and wish we had known her years earlier.

We recommend her highly!”

I felt understood, supported and validated

“The journey of a parent with a neurodivergent child can feel very lonely. I’ve felt let down by my son’s teachers and counsellors, our pediatrician, and even our therapists, none of whom understand autistic burnout or our son. Other parents with neurotypical kids don’t understand either. I have so much gratitude for Tanya, who does understand and has been an amazing coach and resource, supporting me as I seek to help my son and our family heal.

Feeling understood and validated by Tanya has given me the strength I need to continue on this journey with confidence and guided by love and compassion.”

I’m really glad I’ve joined this community

“Tanya, you have created a lot of fantastic content: informative, well-structured and presented with compassion. It is very soothing to see so much good information that I can relate to, even though you don’t know our situation. I get exactly what I need from you. Some of the things you talk about confirm my own thoughts, and thus I feel much safer in my choices, and when I need to confront others who don’t understand this. But you also point out things that I see I should work with, and I’m really grateful for it. So I get both validation, comfort and guidance from you, and it’s truly invaluable

Tanya just gets it!

“This is the hardest and loneliest parenting experience I have been through. I instantly felt at home with Tanya’s coaching and guidance. I felt so seen, understood and validated.

She just got it! I couldn’t have gotten through this and seen all the progress we are making with our son without her empathetic support and guidance.”
