How To Support Your Mental And Emotional Capacity During The Holidays

How To Support Your Mental And Emotional Capacity During The Holidays

December 11 @ 19:30 21:00 UTC+12

Our culture would have us believe that this time of the year can be the ‘happiest time of the year’.  However, for many Autistic and ADHD parents, children and teens this time of the year is the most overwhelming time of the year.

Not only have many of our teenagers just been through the arduous task of writing exams but is everything brighter, louder, blinkier and busier.  Demands on our time, social battery, finances and emotional capacity increase significantly during the holiday season.

Everywhere we look there on every type of media we are on, are suggestions on what we should be doing, how we should be doing it, what we should buy, and how we should be feeling.

I can be full-on.

The increase in our demands can result in reduced executive function and an increase in meltdowns, shutdowns and burnout for us and our children. Although we have very little control over what is happening in the world around us there are still things that we can do to help ourselves and our children during this time of the year.

In this 90-Minute Masterclass, we will be exploring:

  • What is truly important to us and our families and ways we can reduce demands during the holiday period.
  • How to set and maintain boundaries with friends and family members.
  • Practical things we can do to lessen the load during the holiday season.

I will be taking you through a step-by-step process to support you to create a Sensory Safety Plan to help you to safeguard your (and your children’s) mental and emotional capacity.

Suitable for all parents of neurodivergent children and teens.

Move through the session interactively or watch the recording afterwards as provided.

A Completion Certificate is provided to participants of the Masterclass.

Cost $55 NZD or Pay What You Can as part of our Ethical Pricing Offer.
